Buhari announce final decision on Inter-state travelling across the Country

As phase of new measures to curtail the 

spread of COVID-19, President 

Muhammadu 

Buhari, on Monday, introduced 

restriction 

of inter-state passenger travels.

This is coming after 28 days of federal 

authorities lockdown order in Federal 

Capital Territory, Lagos and Ogun States.

The President in his broadcast announced 

the easing of the lockdown, with impact 

from May 4. He, however, introduced new 

units of measures, which include night 

time 

curfew.

speechhighlight how important the 

lockdown rule is, considering the fact the 

coronavirus is 

now spreading across all states in Nigeria.

He said, “There will be a ban on non-

essential inter-state passenger travels until 

similarly notice.”

“There will be partial and controlled 

interstate motion of goods and offerings 

will be allowed from producers to 

consumers.”

Adding that “There will be an overnight 

curfew from 8pm to 6am. This ability all 

movements are will be prohibited at some 

point of this period barring essential 

services.”

Recall that the Nigeria Governors Forum 

had counseled President Muhammadu 

Buhari, to stop inter-state movements.
