Milan And Spurs Keen On Barcelona-Owned Full-Back Emerson (MD)

AC Mlilan are one of several European clubs interested in signing full-back Emerson de Souza from Barcelona this summer, a report claims.

According to the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Milan have set their sights on the right-back, who is owned by the Catalan side but is on loan at Real Betis until 2021.

THe Rossoneri have struggled for consistency all season down the right side of their defence with Andrea Conti and Davide Calabria both failing to nail down a starting spot due to a combination of injuries, poor form and suspensions.

Emerson meanwhile has three goals and five assists in the 24 games he has played with the Andalusian team so far this season. The agreement signed between Betis and Barcelona means that the player will remain on loan in Seville until the end of next season, but the idea of it being terminated earlier in not completely out of the questions.

Nonetheless, Milan are not alone in their interest. Even Inter and Tottenham are on his trail, while during the season Barca have followed their player with interest and will have to evaluate whether to give him a chance in the future or to opt for a transfer.
